Built for Africa.
By Africa.

Carvan is Pan-African auto-fintech infrastructure — conceived in Uganda, built for the continent, and expanding to serve every African dreaming of vehicle ownership.

We are building the infrastructure Africa deserves.

Africa's vehicle markets are large, growing, and deeply underserved. Millions of qualified buyers cannot access financing. Thousands of dealers operate without structure or trust. Banks receive incomplete applications and reject viable customers.

Carvan exists to fix this. Not by being another listing site. By being the structured digital layer that makes every transaction verifiable, every buyer qualified, and every dealer accountable.

We believe that vehicle ownership is transformative — for families, for businesses, for communities. And we believe that every African who earns a vehicle deserves a trustworthy path to own one.

🏛️
Infrastructure First
We don't sell cars. We build the systems that make car transactions possible, trustworthy, and structured.
🔒
Trust by Design
Every dealer is verified. Every vehicle documented. Every buyer pre-qualified. Trust is not an afterthought — it is the product.
🌍
Pan-African Ambition
We start in Uganda. We think in continents. Every system we build is designed to scale from Kampala to Lagos to Nairobi to Accra.
🤝
Community Rooted
Carvan is funded by community. Built for community. The diaspora, the local professional, the small dealer — all are stakeholders in this mission.

"I built Carvan because I watched people lose money, lose trust, and lose opportunities in a market that deserved better infrastructure. Africa is not short of ambition. It is short of systems."

Jonathan Ndakola is the Founder and Group CEO of Carvan Technologies Ltd — a Pan-African auto-fintech marketplace headquartered in Kampala, Uganda.

Carvan was conceived from firsthand observation of the inefficiencies, fraud, and financing gaps that define African automotive markets. The insight was simple but profound: the problem was not demand, it was infrastructure. Buyers existed. Dealers existed. Banks existed. What was missing was the structured digital layer connecting all three.

Jonathan built Carvan to be that layer — starting in Uganda, expanding through East Africa, and ultimately serving the entire continent as the Stripe × AutoTrader of Africa.

He leads the company's overall strategy, technology vision, bank partnership development, and investor relations — including the growing Ugandan diaspora investor community in Florida and Canada.

The Carvan story.

2024 — The Idea
Identifying the Gap
Jonathan Ndakola identifies the core problem: African vehicle markets are large but structurally broken. No platform combines verified listings with structured bank financing. The concept for Carvan is born.
2025 — Foundation
Building the Infrastructure
Carvan Technologies Ltd is incorporated in Uganda. The platform architecture is designed — dealer onboarding, AI pre-qualification engine, bank referral system, and buyer dashboard. First dealer conversations begin.
2026 — Launch
Uganda Pilot Goes Live
Carvan UG launches in Uganda with initial dealer onboarding and first bank partnership conversations. The Florida community investor round opens — bringing diaspora capital into the mission. Carvan CA launches for diaspora buyers in Canada.
2027 — Expansion
East Africa: Kenya
Following Uganda validation, Carvan expands to Kenya — a market with strong fintech adoption, mature digital payments, and significant vehicle demand. Carvan KE launches with local bank partnerships and dealer onboarding.
2028+ — The Vision
Pan-African Infrastructure
Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, Ghana. Pan-African structured auto transaction platform. Embedded financing. Digital vehicle registry integration. Cross-border marketplace. API integrations with banks across the continent.
